Products I Love!

I know that I haven't even begun to start climbing in this motherhood journey, but there are a lot of things that I have had to research up to this point and I want to share that knowledge as best I can!! This will be a constant work in progress!

This will hopefully serve as a guide to anyone who needs information on products I've used that I enjoy. (For any medicines, foods and exercises, please make sure you listen to your own body and Dr.)

Morning Sickness:

  • Canada Dry Ginger Ale
  • Wheat Thins
  • Zofran
    • Be aware that when you take this, it will stop you up. BAD! I went from going twice a day to only being able to go if I hadn't taken zofran for a couple days. Usually your Dr. will prescribe colace (stool softener) with this. I had to choose if I wanted to poop that day or eat that day. Horrible choice, but when your baby needs you to eat, you do it!
  • Gatorade
    • While nauseated, it's important to stay hydrated AND make sure you have electrolytes.

Back Pain:

  • Tylenol
    • I would rather not take anything, but if things are REALLY bad (like after my 15K) I would take a Tylenol.
  • Yoga
    • Simple stretching throughout the day really makes a world of difference.
  • Swimming
    • I started swimming to keep my endurance up. Though I lived in FL all of my life, I never really just swam laps before, so I decided to get myself a pair of goggles. I ended up with the Aqua Sphere Vista goggles and I love them! They are large enough to go around your entire eye and they are deep enough to where my eyelashes don't touch them! Not to mention the easy tightening feature on the strap. They were expensive ($37.99 at Sports Authority) Here are the cheaper "Seal" googles:
    •

Heartburn:

  • Tums
  • Apple Juice
    • If you can juice your own organic apple juice, I would HIGHLY recommend it. Then you don't need to worry about arsenic! I use a Breville juicer that I LOVE. I believe it's the Breville Dual Speed Fountain Plus JE98XL.
  • Changing the time of day you take prenatal
    • I've been taking the Women's One-A-Day with DHA, but I feel like I want to get a raw or organic supplement. The WOAD have been good, no neon pee or anything like that, but I just want a more natural approach (of course the best is a well balanced diet) I'm thinking of trying New Chapter Prenatal and WholeMega Omega's.
    • Here is a chart of natural prenatal pills compared.
    •  So yesterday, I started a new prenatal. I ran of my One A Day vitamins. Every time I took them, I would get extremely bad heartburn. I just thought it  was my new life as a pregnant lady, so I just kept taking them. I researched a little more and decided I would try a natural vitamin. I picked up the Rainbow Lite prenatal and DHA. I didn't have heartburn at all and I also had no problem in the restroom in the morning, even with the lack of water the day before.
